Blowing Bubbles

Carefree days of blowing bubbles.... makes you warm and fuzzy inside.... I love my girls and the simple things that make them so happy. They are so sweet and loving and so tender hearted. I love how they both love to be cuddled and held. Love to hold your hand when your walking with them. They make me laugh every day with the things they say. Maddy is like a small adult with the words she uses, and Emma tries to say everything and does a pretty good job at it. Emma learned to fake cry and you should just see her face when she does it- it's hilarious. How can toddler's be so funny?
To have a three year old tell you your the bestest buddy she ever had and a 18 month old that when you hold her she snuggles into your neck and pats your back affectionately.... that's better than blowing bubbles on a warm spring day. That's better than anything.....

Manic Monday

No pictures with this post... just a little whining! I'm sore! Shot a wedding Sat- an easy wedding! Only 6 hours and my left arm is in pain. I'm rubbing bengay on it at night.... must have pulled something or too much time passed between weddings. Need to mend quick have a maternity/4 year old session this week and a big wedding this Sat.

Tim got the laundry room floor laid this weekend... looks great! Maybe we will finish this house by our one year "house buying anniversary"!!!

I attended a class today at the lab I use in Tarentum- they gave us a tour and got to see how they print the signs for McDonalds and other stores. Saw some neat albums and products I need to start offering... so I need to work on some new packages. Got to talk with other area photographers, it was a fun day.

I've been proofing pictures all night and am need of a soft pillow and some bengay... so goodnight my friends and family. Ok one quick picture from the wedding I did Sat. Love the color in this and the depth of field....

Sunny April

What beautiful weather this week!! I'm sure it's about to end today or tomorrow when I'm doing a wedding! But all this week there hasn't been a cloud in the sky and got into the 70's. Had the girls out everyday. Went for a walk on rails to trails one evening, Tim came along too which allowed me to take some pictures. I love my backyard!! Taking the girls out everyday to play- they can run around and I don't have to! I can sit and relax! They ride their little bikes, pick flowers, draw with chalk, blow bubbles.... it's great! Really enjoying a fenced in yard!!

The Weekend...

Tim and I worked on the laundry/sunroom Saturday. Took boxes and boxes of "stuff" to the basement. We have way too much "stuff"!! Got the new door in and drywall finished... well Tim did that I was the "stuff" mover. I'm shocked I didn't fall down the basement steps to be honest.

The girls had a fun day Uncle Dan and Aunt Karly took them to see Curious George and then to McDonald's. Then to Grandma's house to play on the play gym and when they returned home they were eating ice cream cones!! Tim and I 's "fun" day didn't seem so fun anymore! :)
The picture of Madison is her watching out the window for Karly and Dan to come, sweet isn't it?

Playing outside

Well the sun came out on our day of the dumpster. Dad and Tim filled a 30 yard dumpster in just hours- amazing. Mom and I came out in the afternoon and helped. Good thing we did- since Mom spotted our skunk friend living in the pile!

Last night we were able to take the kids out in the back yard for the first time and let them run around. They were so excited!! Emma kept pointing out every bird "Birdie... Tweet Tweet!" She just kept laughing for no reason- was so happy to be free! Madison intently planted a garden. She found the tiniest flowers and picked them and then replanted them... So cute!

I promised them they could watch Faith Hill if they came in, I was sure there would be a problem getting them to come in- but Faith worked.

Hope to have many more fun times in the back yard.... Also Thanks Mom and Dad for helping us with the dumpster!!

Dumpster Day

Today is the day.... it's dreary, damp, and cold.... 7 months ago on a sunny day we bought our first house. Today is the day we move it from the back yard to a 30 yard dumpster. The only thing left of the original house is most of the studs... the exterior walls... and the roof... oh and the kitchen cabinets which got totally refinished. We are in effect putting the house we bought in the dumpster... kinda funny huh?

It will be so nice to have a yard! Or look out the kitchen window and not see the "pile" as we so affectionately call it! It is inchs away from reaching that window and it's quite funny when the neighborhood cat climbs the pile and is at eye level of the kitchen window.

Can't wait to plant some flowers and let the kids play outside.... it will also be nice not having people walking by stop and look at our enormous pile. It's "junk" weekend here in town and we were kidding ourselves "What if they came and took the whole pile!" Well we got the dumpster and we got the weekend. Till I have a yard again.....

Well I did it....

I took a half hour around dinner time and took some shots of the kids. I quickly remembered why I started taking pictures of other people's children.... It's hard to take their pictures alone, to be behind the camera worrying about focusing on constantly moving subjects, AND try to get them to look my way with a nice expression.... I am glad I took the time for preserving their moments....

Why a blog....

I know everyone is saying why a blog too? She has two kids and a photography business.... THAT is why I need a blog. I have two beautiful little girls whose lives are rushing by me and I need a journal of sorts to remember these fleeting moments later. A picture diary sounds right up my alley.
I have scrapbooks started for them that have been long forgotten- someday I will work on them again....
I write letters to them in a book.... though I have kept up with that better it has been months since I wrote.
So until the big snowstorm comes that I was hoping for this winter..... finding time to get to these things probably won't happen. So every couple a days I can post a new picture on here and jot down a note about them and what they have been up to. Or maybe a session I've had. I'm so busy capturing moments for everyone else's families that I'm not doing it for my own. That needs to change. I plan on getting back to taking pictures of the kids regularly and enjoying it, I mean they are already trained. Even Emma says "Cheese"! Ha Ha

If you just stumbled across this I'll give you some background to catch you up. My name is Kelly "Stairs" Barclay I married Tim Barclay on Dec 18, 1999. Madison came along 1/27/03 and Emma Rose on 10/7/04. I got my "good" camera in 3/05. Practiced and did pictures for friends till Sept. then starting getting jobs.

Until my next post.......
